Sharing

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 KJV)

Why? So the next generation will know the Lord? That might be a great effort toward that goal, but even the best laws, the most savory wisdom, and the best day to day sense is instilled and retained when it’s picked up along the way. You have to experience the one behind all this for yourself to want to share how precious it is. Telling these things to others (the next generation or not) reminds both us and them of what to look for. What to be expecting. It sets both of us up to be able to recognize the presence of God and his handiwork as it happens in real time. It puts you in a position to see what He is doing first. It even forces the skeptical to make a decision because he now hears what he could not otherwise have heard.
