“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” (James 1:2-3 KJV)
It seems like every time that we hear this verse, we hear it as “count trials joyfully”. As though we have to strengthen that lower lip with steadfastness. What is it that the trial tries? The trial tests our faith, not our steadfastness. The trial already wiped out our steadfastness, but steadfastness grows again in faith. As odd as it sounds, steadfastness comes and goes. A growing faith; that is worth counting as joy! It’s a steadfastness in faith that gets you to lacking nothing.
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:4 KJV)
