“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15 KJV)
Do you mind if I ask where are you in your individual daily scripture reading today, i.e. what book? What is the Lord showing you about it? You may ask, why do I ask this? As many requests as we lift up to God, I’m sure that God knows the sound of our voice. What does God’s voice sound like? We are told in 1 Peter 3:15 “…and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” I think that being ready is only part of it. Being ready forces you into the word to find theological reasoning, but you come out of the word knowing more than that. You come out knowing the author and founder of our faith. You come out knowing what real praise is and why he is worthy of it. You come out knowing more than the words of an answer. You come out knowing Jesus in relationship as the answer and we are then eager to share him with any that will listen! Many of us know (or can remember) what the voice of our Earthly father sounds like. Do we know our heavenly father’s voice when we hear it?
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28 KJV)
