Do it

“And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:” (John 2:1 KJV)

This story gets reviewed from a dozen different perspectives. We hear about the correlation of a wedding feast. We hear about water into wine. We hear about the good wine being saved until last. I am sure all of these are great extracts from this story. Anyone want to guess what the most important statement in the whole story actually is? “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” (John 2:5 KJV) Yet, is that not so true? If you want to see miracles, you need to listen for the Lord’s instruction. No other detail in this story gets any traction until it is first in the context of us actively paying attention to what the Lord has for us as our next step. Then… O yes, then, what a story that we have to tell!

“And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.” (Luke 8:21 KJV)
