“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” (Hebrews 12:1 KJV)
Today is Memorial Day. It’s often celebrated to remember fallen heroes along with the valor with which they fought. For us as Christians, we have a different cloud of witnesses. There may be several in this roster that did fight very bravely, but the flight was one of faith. In fact, it’s more than a memorial. It contains relevant and present instruction to remind us to not be entangled with all the other things which will not survive the refining fires. Let God have your cares today. He will show you which is chaff and what will grow you.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 KJV)
